Facebook can seem like such a mindfield! Tags, lives, posts, photos, locations, groups, business pages - the list goes on and the opportunity to utilise and leverage your business using facebook is forever expanding.
I am going to share 5 top tips of how to get started on Facebook to;
1. Increase engagement
2. Promote genuine connection and reach
3. Build positive relationships
4. Show up in a way that is aligned with you and your business
Facebook is an amazing way to build your own community and tribe and create a vibe that is super personal to you and what you offer to the world.
There are of course, so many articles and information about facebook but I want to share with you the everyday tips and tricks that allowed me to build a community of over 1.4k organically and steadily.
1. Create a business page and group with the same name and link them!
So many people create groups and no page or vice verse, however, it is integral you have both for 2 reason;
- Your page is great for reaching new people and allowing others to share your content and get other people to see the content you are creating (on the biz page)
- Your group is a fantastic way to nurture your community and offer them something extra special that they know is in a safe place and can't be seen anywhere but the group. Creating that exclusivity factor.
You can then post on your biz page and share it into your group, on your profile and in any other spaces, even explaining your group live schedule or topics so that also encourages more people to then join your group.
2. Have entry questions before you accept people into your group
It is so important that your community are the right fit for you and your message, as well as the rest of your community. You are building a place of love and engagement, and that will only happen if they feel comfortable to share and comment.
For people to join my group I have 3 simple questions they must answer before I will accept them.
1 being 'do you struggle with anxiety?' This is important for me because my whole passion and purpose is supporting my community to overcome anxiety and find more positivity in their life and mindset, so if they do not resonate with my message or want to join the group for the right reasons, it won't keep the space as safe and positive as I want it to be.
3. Don't over do it!
Allow your community time to see and digest your content. If you post 7 times a day, your tribe will become too overwhelmed - where do they start? What do you want them to take away? Will they engage on every post?
Post an image/question/thought once in a day and allow your community to see it and engage with you.
This also gives them time and space to read it, come back to it, like it and actually take in what you are sharing.
4. Communicate directly
Tag your tribe in any posts that you want to make sure they see and show that you know them, are thinking of them and want to hear from them. This personal touch is so important for building a tribe.
So when you do a live video, empowering post, tag your community and let them know that its there for them to enjoy.
5. Give warning when you can
When you are going live, its great to let tour tribe know in advance so that they can join you.
Tell them when your are going to be in the group, what you are talking about and why they should tune in live with you. There is nothing better than live connection with your tribe and this is something that needs to be indulged as often as you can.
I would say once a week if you can.
Start here and let me know how you get on!
