How To Use Nature To Reduce Anxiety

People talk about nature A LOT and I want to give you some quick and easy ways to use nature to your advantage. 

Allow nature to become your BFF and here's how!

 

 

1. Go outside once a day for fresh air

When you are outside notice the smells and temperatures around you. 

Just take notice. Make that your focal point. 

How hot or cold is it? What can I smell? What do I feel like outside today?

 

2. Use your senses

List 5 things you can see

4 things you can touch - and touch them! 

3 things you can hear - are they are away or close to you?

2 things you can smell - from where? Can you take yourself to a memory of that smell?

1 thing you can taste - your breakfast?! Last drink?

 

Use your sense to bring you to the present, focus on the now and become more mindful of the moment. Divert from the negative or worry and bring yourself back to right now. Using your very own senses to do so! 

 

3. Scan the environment

What colours do you see?

Shapes?

Sizes?

Textures?

People?

 

Scanning your environment also grounds you. Holds you where you are and pulls you back to what you can see and feel and how you really are right now. Do future worry or doubt, just the hear and now. 

 

4. Your office space or home

Fill your working space with uplifting and positive objects or memories.

Plants

Colours

 

Bring the positivity to your work space, allow that to be a constant reminder of the goodness that surrounds you.
